Tours: - Guided tours of the Emergency Garage Operations and K-9 Operations and self-guided tours of Historic Building 1.
- Continental Airlines tour – come see the Continental facilities, tower and view the inner workings of this Continental hub at Newark.
Luncheon Speakers: Newark Airport is full of history! Join Frank Loprano and Dave Morris to hear all about it!

Hudson River Fly-Out: ATC plans to permit departures with a scenic Hudson River flight out of Newark. This is not a group event so if you fly in to EWR, you can make a Hudson River departure request.

HOTEL RESERVATIONS
The Spring 2006 New York-New Jersey Section Meeting will be held at Newark Liberty International Airport’s historic Building 1, Newark, NJ. A block of rooms are being held at the Newark Int'l Airport Marriott hotel on the airport property to accommodate our overnight guests. Make your reservations directly through the hotel at 973-623-0006. A special room rate of $109 for double or single occupancy is available until April 8th. Please notify them you are with the "99s’ Group". Hotel parking is $20 per day. Check In: 4:00 pm – Check Out: Noon.
GETTING THERE
By Car
Building 1 – Building 1 is on Conrad off Brewster Rd near the Continental hangar in the North Area. From I-78 use Exit 58A and I-95 use Exit
14. Follow signs to Port Newark and North Area. Turn right just before the traffic signal at the brown sign: "Terminals, Parking, North Area, South Area". Proceed to the "T" and turn right at the STOP on Brewster Rd. Go 1/2 mile and turn left on Conrad just past Bldg 70 (on the left). Proceed to Building 1 on the left. Park in the visitors area in front of the building.
Marriott - The hotel is on airport property and can be accessed either off I-78 or I-95 (NJ Tpk). Directions are on the Marriott website at http://marriott.com/property/propertypage/ewrap?WT_Ref=mi_left or call the Marriott directly at 973.623.0006.
By Plane
Commercial Flights
If you plan to travel to the meeting via commercial aviation, Newark offers monorail service from each terminal with stops at the Marriott
hotel.
Private Planes
Special arrangements have been made for those who wish to fly their planes into Newark or area airports. If you plan to fly in, you must provide the information on the attached registration form no later than April 15th.

To EWR - Remember to have a current New York Terminal Chart with you!
Permission has been obtained for flying into Newark-Liberty International Airport and we expect no landing fees. Free parking will be
available at Port Authority locations. VFR and IFR approaches will be allowed. VFR arrivals can expect reporting point instructions from the tower on 127.85. Arrivals and departures MUST be planned within the time frames indicated below.
Friday Arrival: after 9:00 p.m.
Saturday Arrival: before 8 a.m. Sunday Departure: unrestricted
Saturday Departure: after 3:00 p.m. (expect a wait)
Transportation from the ramp to the Marriott or Bldg 1 may be arranged with advance notice.
To Alternate Area Airports
The following area airports have agreed to provide the listed landing and ramp fees for registered aircraft:
- Linden (KLDJ) near EWR – fees waived, transportation to EWR by taxi or van service $7/person
- Essex County (KCDW) - fees waived, transportation to Newark on your own
- Morristown(KMMU) – landing fee waived, $10 ramp fee at Signature, transportation to Newark on your own
Transportation from Linden to the Marriott or Building 1 may be arranged with advance notice.

Mid Atlantic Pilots Association Notice

Meetings are held on the second Thursday of every Month at the Russian National Home, 4-6 Woodhull Avenue, Little Falls, New Jersey. Meeting price is $23 per person and includes dinner.
Featuring: Runway Incursions: Listen Up, Read Back, Fly Right
A runway incursion is "any occurrence in the airport runway environment involving an aircraft, vehicle, person, or object on the ground that creates a collision hazard or results in a loss of required separation with an aircraft taking off, intending to take off, landing, or intending to land."
Ever had one? Or know someone who did? Dick Rutan is featured in this runway safety video set in California and Alaska. The emphasis is on communications and the video includes some spectacular flying footage.
